Major Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
